Dr. Ziya Kalem 1963 yılında Çorumda doğmuştur. İlk ve orta öğretimini Çorumda tamamlamıştır. 1981 yılında başladığı Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden 1988 yılında mezun olup tıp doktoru ünvanını almıştır. 1988 -1993 yılları arasında Ankara Dr. Zekai Tahir Burak Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum hastanesinde uzmanlık eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 1996 ve 2004 yılları arasında Çorum Doğumevinde kadın hastalıkları ve doğum uzmanı olarak çalışmıştır. 2004-2006 yılları arasında Ankara Tüp Bebek merkezinde tüp bebek sertifikasyonunu tamamlamış ve çalışmalarına devam etmiştir. 2007-2014 yılları arasında Çorum Özel Hastanesinde görev yapmıştır. 2015-2019 yılları arasında tüp bebek merkezi sorumlu doktoru olarak Ankara Gürgan Klinik Kadın Sağlığı ve Tüp Bebek Merkezinde çalışmıştır. 2019 yılından itibaren İstinye Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Hastanesinde tüp bebek merkezi sorumlusu olarak çalışmaktadır.
