Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nden 1988 yılında mezun oldu. 1996'da Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahı Uzmanı, 2005 yılında doçent, 2010 yılında Hacettepe Üniversitesi'nde Sinirbilim doktorası aldı. 2011 yılında profesör oldu. 1995 yılında University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC)'da "Research Fellow", 1997 yılında Hannover Krankenhous Norstadt Skullbase Surgery, "Observer" olarak bulundu 2013-2020 yıılları arasında University of California, San Franscisco (UCSF) "Visiting Professor" olarak aralıklı olarak çalıştı. Cerrahi, araştırma ve bilim okurluğunu sever.
