Prof.Dr. Salih Özgöçmen 1993 yılında Ondokuzmayıs Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinden mezun olmuş ve sonrasında FTR ve ardından Romatoloji Uzmanlık programlarını tamamlamıştır. Akademik kariyerine Fırat Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde başlamış ve ardından Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi ve 2022 yılında Trakya Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesinde Profesör olarak akademik yaşamına devam etmiştir. Primer araştırma alanı spondiloartritler olup Assessement of Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) üyesidir. Kas iskelet sistemi ultrasonografisi ve romatizmal hastalıklarda görüntüleme diğer araştırma konuları arasındadır. Halen İstinye Üniversitesi Gaziosmanpaşa Hastanesinde hizmet vermeye devam etmektedir.
