Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç, beyin cerrahisi profesörü ve beyni anlamaya çalışan bir bilim insanıdır. Hacettepe, Marmara ve Harvard Üniversitelerinde eğitim alan Dr. Kılıç, bilim doktorasını anatomi alanında tamamlamıştır. Prof. Kılıç, 2015 yılında Avrupa Bilim ve Sanat Akademisine, Aralık 2021’de Dünya Sanat ve Bilim Akademisine seçilmiştir. Türker Kılıç bu iki önemli Akademiye seçilen ülkemizdeki tek bilim insanıdır. 2012 yılından beri Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Kurucu Dekanı ve Beyin Cerrahisi Anabilim Dalı Başkanı olarak eğitim, cerrahi ve araştırma çalışmalarını sürdürmektedir. Prof. Kılıç, başta Harvard Tıp Fakültesi, Yale, Milano Politeknik ve Johns Hopkins Üniversiteleri olmak üzere 10’dan fazla üniversitede konuk öğretim üyesi olarak ders vermiştir. Kılıç, 100’ün üzerinde mesleki başarı ödülüne layık görülmüş olup, bu ödüller arasında 1999’da aldığı Avrupa Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Derneği (EANS) Aesculap Bilimsel Araştırma Ödülü ile 2001 ve 2005'te aldığı Amerikan Beyin ve Sinir Cerrahisi Dernekleri Birliği'nin Tümör Araştırma Ödülleri bulunmaktadır. Dr. Kılıç mikrocerrahi ve gamma-knife cerrahisi yöntemleri ile toplamda 30.000 üzeri sayıdaki hastasının cerrahi tedavilerini yapmıştır. Bu süreçte 49 öğrencisinin beyin cerrahı olarak yetişmesinde, 400 üzerinde tıp öğrencisinin hekim olmasında rol sahibi olmuştur. H-indeksi 40 olan ve 200’ün üzerinde bilimsel yayına 6.000 üzeri atıf almış olan Dr. Kılıç, çeşitli Beyin Ameliyatı Yöntemleri ve Beyin Tümörleri için bulunan ama esas kullanım alanını kan kanserinde bulan Glivec isimli ilacın buluşunda önemli katkı sahibidir. Türkiye'de Gamma-Knife Işın Cerrahisini ilk kullanan, Tümör Bankası, Ameliyathane MR tekniği uygulamalarını ise ilk başlatanlardandır. Bilimsel araştırmaların yanında, Tıp Eğitimi ve Bilim Eğitimi konularında çalışmakta olan Prof. Dr. Türker Kılıç’ın bilim ve bilim eğitimi konulu konuşmaları internet üzerinden 10 milyondan fazla kişi tarafından izlenmiştir. Dr. Kılıç, 2020’de kurulan Türkiye Beyin Vakfı’nın ve İstanbul Nörolojik Bilimler Enstitüsü'nün kurucu başkanıdır. Dr. Kılıç, Şubat 2021 Ayrıntı Yayınları’ndan yayımlanan ve toplamda 8 baskı yapan “Yeni Bilim: Bağlantısallık, Yeni Kültür: Yaşamdaşlık” başlıklı kitabın yazarıdır. Eylül 2024 yılında ise “Nasıl Daha İyi ve Güzel Bir Yaşam Kurarız? Beyin Bilimin Yanıtı” isimki kitabı Doğan Kitap’tan yayımlanmıştır. Prof. Dr. Kılıç’ın otobiyografisi de Epsilon Yayınevi’nden, Mert İnan imzası ile, “Beyin Nedir’den Yaşam Nedir’e Bir Hayat Serüveni: Türker Kılıç” başlığıyla yayımlanmıştır.
