Our 3rd year medical student, Berfin Ergin, reached the finals among 583 projects in the "2242 University Students Research Project Competition", where TÜBİTAK 2209A/B projects across the country compete. The winners of the final, in which hundreds of projects in different fields participate every year, attend the award ceremony at Teknofest.
Our student Berfin ERGİN, who has been working with great devotion in Stem Cell Arge laboratories since her first year at the medical school, in her project titled "Analysis of the Effect of Resveratrol on Lysosomes of Young and Old Mesenchymal Stem Cells with Artificial Intelligence", compared the stem cells aged in the laboratory with young stem cells and reversed aging with the application of Resveratrol. checked to see if it was translated. In the study, where time-lapse imaging and artificial intelligence analyzes were used for the first time in the world, at the organelle level, aging processes and the role of lysosomes were examined.
The research, which took the first steps with the TÜBİTAK student project, is currently being expanded with a project with a budget of 250,000 TL with external support. Berfin Ergin, who wants to continue her experiences in Istinye University Arge laboratories abroad after her medical education, wants to develop treatments for many diseases, including aging, in the future.
