Istinye University, which integrated digital transformation into its education processes, had no difficulties in switching to remote education during the COVID-19 pandemic and during this period of online education the school also managed to offer certain applied courses remotely thanks to its established technical infrastructure. The first example of this was the applied course on Digital Pathology.
The Department of Pathology in the Faculty of Medicine offered its first Digital Pathology applied course to third year medicine students on Wednesday, April 22. Thanks to the ISU Digital Microscopy Laboratory opened last year, as well as the Remote Education Platform for Pathology (EDUPATH) provided by VIRASOFT, students received the applied pathology course via their computers at home. This will provide medicine students with an uninterrupted service to improve their practical pathology skills during the period of remote education.
