Çağatay Acuner is a graduate of Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He completed his specialty education in medicine in the field of Microbiology and Clinical Microbiology at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. He worked as an academician at Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Medicine (OMUTF) (2002-2010) and Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine (YUTF) (English) (2010-2021). He served as Assistant Coordinator and Coordinator, respectively, in the 2013 UTEAK and 2019 UTEAK accreditation processes of Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine. He is co-founder of the OMUTF Molecular Microbiology Research Laboratory. He is one of the founders of Yeditepe University Translational Medicine Research and Application Center (YÜTTAM). He worked as a researcher in the Molecular Microbiology laboratory of the Faculty of Medicine at Erasmus University (The Netherlands). He is co-founder of the Study Group on Laboratory Quality of Turkish Microbological Society. He has contributed to development of the National Regulation for Medical Laboratories and national laboratory guidelines/standards. Some of its international certificates are: “Microbial Typing Technologies: Practical Course with Theoretical Support”, “Training Course in Hospital Epidemiology”, “Strategic Hospital Management”, “Complexity Science”, medical laboratory quality accreditation and quality assurance management (multiple certificates).
