Tıp Fakültesi eğitimini 1989-1996 yılları arasında Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde tamamlamıştır. 1997-2001 yıllarında Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Patoloji ABD’da Tıbbi Patoloji uzmanlık eğitiminin ardından, aynı üniversitede öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaya başlamıştır. 2006 yılında USA Chicago’da Loyola Üniversitesi Patoloji Bölümü’nde Hematopatoloji alanında altı ay; 2014 yılında University of California San Francisco, USA Patoloji Bölümü’nde Nöropatoloji alanında iki ay süreyle gözlemci-araştırmacı olarak çalışmıştır. Marmara Üniversitesi’nde 2005 yılında yardımcı doçent, 2011 yılında doçent, 2018 yılında profesör ünvanını almıştır. Marmara Üniversitesi Tıbbi Patoloji Anabilim Dalında 2013-2025 yılları arasında Nöropatoloji ve 2023-2025 yılları arasında Sitopatoloji Bilim Dalı Başkanlığı, 2020-2025 yılları arasında Tıbbi Patoloji ABD Başkanlığı görevlerini yürütmüştür. Akademik kariyeri boyunca özellikle hematopatoloji, nöropatoloji ve moleküler patoloji alanlarında olmak üzere çok sayıda ulusal ve uluslararası bilimsel yayın, kongre bildirisi ve kitap bölüm yazarlığı yapmıştır. Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp ve Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi, Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yüksek Okulu Patoloji Teknikerliği ve Doğu Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’nde lisans öğrenci eğitimlerinde yer almıştır. Marmara Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Enstitüsü Sinir Bilimleri doktora programında temel nöropatoloji derslerini vermiştir. Türk Patoloji Derneği Yönetim Kurulu’nda dört yıl sekreterlik görevini yürütmüştür. 2022 yılından itibaren Nöroonkoloji Derneği Yönetim Kurulunda görev yapmaktadır. Türk Patoloji Dernekleri Federasyonu çatısında yer alan Nöropatoloji, Hematopatoloji ve Moleküler Patoloji Çalışma gruplarında destek vermektedir. “European Confederation of Neuropathological Societies” ve “European Hematopathology Society” üyesidir. Mart 2025’te İstinye Üniversitesi Patoloji Laboratuvarı kuruculuğu ve yöneticiliği görevine, Mayıs 2025'te İstinye Üniversitesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalında öğretim üyeliği görevine başlamıştır.
