Samet Yardımcı
After completing his primary and secondary education in Antakya, he got accepted to Ankara University, Faculty of Medicine in 1997 and started his medical education. İn 2003, when he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, started working as a general surgery resident at Haydarpaşa Numune Training and Research Hospital. İn 2008-2009, he received education on cancer surgery and organ transplantation at the MD Anderson Cancer Çenter and Memorial Hermann Hospital at the City of Houston in the United States of America. He ranked first in the subspecialty examination held in 2009, in which general surgeons participate. He received training on gastrointestinal surgery at Turkish High Specialty Hospital betvveen the years of 2009-2012. İn 2012, he became gastrointestinal surgeon and was appointed to the Marmara University Pendik Training and Research Hospital. Between 2012 and 2018, he lectured to the students and general surgery residents of Marmara University, Faculty of Medicine, and he took part in many educational activities for patients and surgeons. He vvorked in the field of oncologic surgery, bariatric and metabolic surgery, as well as played an active role in establishing organ transplantation and inflammatory bowel disease surgery units. He was avvarded the title of associate professor through the examination held in, 2017. His study performed in 2012 was granted the "Best Young Researcher" avvard by the International Transplant Congress. He was invited to several national and International congresses as a speaker. He is a member of the Turkish Surgical Association, Society of Gastroenterology, Association for Endoscopic Laparoscopiç Surgery, Association of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery, Turkish Obesity Surgery Society, Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery and International Federation forthe Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). Samet Yardimci is fluent in English. He has written chapters for medical books in his field and conducted numerous studies published j in Turkey and abroad. He is married and has two children.
