Prof. Dr. Tevfik Ecder graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1987. He completed his training in internal medicine (1992) and nephrology (1995) at the same institution. He worked at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in USA in 1995 and performed clinical studies on renal transplantation and clinical nephrology. Prof. Ecder worked as a research fellow in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension at the University of Colorado School of Medicine between 1998 and 2000. He performed experimental and clinical studies on polycystic kidney disease and acute kidney injury and did clinical studies on hypertension and diabetic nephropathy. Prof. Ecder worked at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Division of Nephology until 2014. He worked at Demiroglu Bilim University Faculty of Medicine, Division of Nephrology, between 2014 and 2021. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine between 2017 and 2021. Prof. Ecder worked as a member of the Executive Committee of the Turkish Society of Nephrology between 2003 and 2011. He was the chairman of the Cystic Kidney Diseases Working Group of the Turkish Society of Nephrology between 2002 and 2022. He is the Vice President of the Turkish Society of Hypertension and Atherosclerosis. Prof. Ecder is a member of the Turkish Society of Nephrology, Turkish Society of Internal Medicine, Turkish Society of Hypertension and Atherosclerosis, European Renal Association, International Society of Nephrology and American Society of Nephrology. He has published over 200 papers in national and international journals and presented more than 200 abstracts in national and international meetings.
