Professor İbrahim ERTUĞRUL M.D. was born in 1973. He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1996. Between 1996-2001, he completed Internal Diseases specialization training at the Department of Internal Diseases in the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University. He completed Gastroenterology specialization training at Ankara Yüksek İhtisas Hospital, Gasroenterology Clinic in 2006. He received the title of Associate Professor of Gastroenterology in 2010. During his study period, he has 37 international published articles within the scope of SCI and SCIE. In addition, he has total of 32 congress posters presentations, 8 of which are international. And he served as session chairman and speaker at various meetings and congresses. He received two awards from congress poster presentations. His articles within the scope of SCI/SCI-E have been cited more than 620 times and he has an h-index of 11. He served as a referee in an international peer-reviewed journal. His main areas of interest include ERCP, EUS, Endoscopic procedures, bile duct and pancreatic diseases, acute and chronic pancreatitis, liver diseases, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver, gastrointestinal bleeding, acid-peptic diseases of upper digestive system (ulcer, reflux, gastritis), inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis), celiac disease and other malabsorption diseases. He is a member of Turkish Gastroenterology Association, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Association, Turkish Liver Research Association, İnflammatory Bowel Diseases Association. He has been working in the Gastroenterology unit at Gaziosmanpaşa MedicalPark Hospital since 2017.
